While rollback netcode for a classic King of Fighters title is certainly good news, this immediately raises some flags for the potential future. You can opt out of the test at any time by clicking "None" under the Betas tab. There are no region locks for this beta test, but it is worth mentioning that beta users can only be matched up against fellow beta players. You'll need to be running a 64-bit version of Windows to participate in the beta test, and in order to access it you'll have to right-click on KOF 2002 UM's properties in Steam, select the Betas tab, and then hit "64-bit trial" from the choices. SNK notes that, for the time being, this update to KOF 2002 UM will be tied to the open community beta. This beta is being worked on by SNK in conjunction with Code Mystics, the company that helped implement rollback into Garou: Mark of the Wolves earlier this year. ![]() "Starts Oct 1st at 10AM(PDT) and ends Oct 15th at 10AM(PDT)!" "Get ready because KOF 2002 UM is releasing an open community beta test for its upcoming rollback netcode patch on Steam!" SNK's tweet reads. ![]()
