![]() ![]() ![]() I dont fully understand the wiring schematic shown here ( ). I can no longer use the pin to RCA cables to connect the arm to the amplifier - instead I will purchase a new set of low capacitance RCA to RCA cables and would like to know how to earth everything correctly. Sorry for my ignorance but is that ok and safe? When I check continuity I see that the earth is continuous with all metal components of the can, not just the screw I connected the earth wire to. I connected it to the screw that mounts the new RCA setup as shown here ( ) I also checked the continuity of the earth. I have checked all wires for continuity from the gold pins that would go into the cartridge with the RCA plugs at the base of the arm. So I am left feeling a little unsure about the job I have done. I am not that well versed in basic electronic and I neglected to draw a wiring schematic before I dismantled the arm and pulled it out of my thorens deck. I recently purchased an SME 3009 SII improved tonearm - I have just completed a full rewire and replaced the pin sockets with RCA plugs. ![]()
